Confirmed: NST Delayed

Delayed

we have been told by multiple sources now that the FA held a meeting with the clubs mid last week regarding the National Second Tier.

A decision was made to postpone the start of the league to beyond 2025, however no date has officially been set. A statement was supposed to be released by the FA and the clubs involved, however we are yet to hear from the governing body in any official capacity yet.

Whilst this is disappointing, it also comes to the surprise of absolutely no one.

The A-League is struggling financially with clubs to receive just $500k from the broadcast deal, an amount that doesn’t even cover the salary floor anymore. How anyone thinks that there is money in this country to fund a competing league is beyond us, especially when player and staff payments will need to be fully accounted for, declared and taxed.

Congratulations to those that said in our NST survey that the league would not be starting next year, you win an imaginary medal for getting that one right.

Something that hasn’t been delayed though is SoSo’s newest single Nightchills! Stream on Spotify now and check out the band on their upcoming tour. The first 50 tickets purchased will also receive a free stubby holder! Tell them TCS sent ya 😉
